July 7, at approximately 2:45 am, Town of Fishkill Police Officers responded to the area of 225 State Route 52 for a 911 report of a male with a gunshot wound.
Responding officers investigating the incident determined the involved 26-year-old male suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the hand. The firearm, illegally possessed by the suspect, was fired twice during a domestic dispute before he attempted to hide the weapon.
The gun which was subsequently discovered by officers on scene, was secured and seized as evidence. The male subject was taken into custody and transported to a local hospital for medical care pending arraignment. The subject was charged with multiple felonies including criminal possession of a weapon, reckless endangerment and criminal contempt in violation of an order of protection.
