Wednesday, June 28, Town of Fishkill Police Sergeant, Anthony Zebrowski and Officer Ken Anderson were dispatched by 911 to an emergency at a residence on Addison Road, for a report of a female choking on food. Upon arrival, officers quickly assessed the scene and attempted to clear the airway obstruction, but their efforts were unsuccessful. Observing the victim had become unresponsive, they checked her pulse and found no heart beat. They immediately initiated CPR with attached defibrillator in an effort to maintain life support until EMS could arrive to assist.

EMS from Mobile Life Support Services arrived on scene a short time later and were able to clear the victims obstructed airway restoring her ability to breathe on her own. The victim was transported to the Emergency Room for further medical evaluation and care.

The officers quick response and life saving efforts in coordination with Mobile Life’s intervention allowed them to save the victims life. Exemplary work by all involved and a perfect example of what can be achieved through partnership with our local first responders.
